CrossSense (London, UK) is building an evidence-based AI companion for smartglasses that supports people living with dementia to stay independent in their own homes. At the heart of CrossSense is Wispy, a calm and supportive AI companion that guides users step by step through everyday activities, from making a cup of tea to finding the right words in conversation, gently prompting and adapting to each person’s individual routines and changing needs.
CrossSense combines cutting-edge research & development with user-centred design. It has been shaped through over three years of community co-design with more than 300 experts by experience, including people living with dementia, carers, care workers and clinicians, and has been evaluated in three studies in real homes, with two further funded evaluations now under way. In March 2026 CrossSense won the Longitude Prize on Dementia, a global challenge prize led by Challenge Works and funded by Alzheimer’s Society and Innovate UK. CrossSense will be available in early 2027.
