Neurable is a Boston neurotechnology company aiming to make the brain more accessible. They have spent over a decade building non-invasive brain-computer interfaces, and are the first company to get commercial-grade brain-computer interface (BCI) adoption in mass-market products. The business runs two ways, Neurable builds its own consumer products, and it licenses the underlying technology to other manufacturers across consumer, defense, and medical sectors. The technology is Neurable AI, a patented platform that pairs EEG sensing with AI signal processing trained on ten-plus years of neuroscience research. OEMs can build it into headphones, glasses, hats, and headbands without giving up control of their own design, user experience, or distribution. Heart rate and sleep tracking made physical health visible day to day. Neurable does the same thing for cognitive performance, health, and research, inside devices people already wear.
The company, spun out of the University of Michigan’s Direct-Brain Interface Laboratory (UM-DBI) has raised more than $50 million. Its partnerships span consumer, defense, and medical applications with Fortune 500 customers.
